Deverakonda Vijay Sai (born 9 May 1981), better known as Vijay Deverakonda, is an Indian film actor and producer famous predominantly for his works in theTelugu cinema. He made a movie in 2011 with Ravi Babu’s romantic comedy Nuvvila, and he earned a recognition award with his supporting role in the coming-of-age drama Yevade Subramanyam (2015).
Deverakonda gained stardom by playing the lead role in the 2016 romantic comedy Pelli Choopulu, winning the National Film Award for Best Featured filmed in Telugu and the Filmfare Award for Best Film – Telugu.
Subsequently, Deverakonda has made himself a leading actor of a Telugu cinema by appearing in lead roles in commercial and critical successes such as Taxiwaala (2018), Geetha Govindam (2018), Mahanati (2018), which rank the top list of highest-grossing Telugu movies.

Vijay Deverakonda was born to Govardhana Rao and Madhavi Deverakonda. His father was a television actor, and his younger brother is a film actor. Deverakonda says his family call him rowdy every time he does something not approved by them. So over time, he started to use the term for himself and his fans.
Deverakonda is bold in putting out his opinions on stage or in Interviews and has gathered a lot of popularity(some of which was also negative). Breakthrough and success (2015–present)
A movie, Pelli Choopulu, a romantic coming-of-age entertainer directed by Tharun Bhascker, was Deverakonda’s first role in Dhaassyam, with Ritu Varma as the female lead.
The movie was commercially successful and received the Best Feature Film in Telugu at the 64th National Film Awards and the Filmfare Award for Best Film – Telugu. In addition, he got praise for his realistic portrayal of an unmotivated and lazy chef.
He then appeared in a masala entertainer, Dwaraka, in 2017. His next movie Arjun Reddy earn praises and criticisms alike for being too radical and bold.
