The chain was discovered in March of 1967 by two young men named Jay Howland and Brian J McLaughlin. The chain was initially called Ma Riva’s Sub Shop. The current name was made in 1978, with the D in D’Angelo meaning delicious.
The chains first store opened in Dedham, Massachusetts and now is found in many different regions, like, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. In addition, the chain has 88 other restaurants.
