History

Chuy’s has gone a long distance since 1982. As earlier stated, Chuy’s began in Texas. John and Mike teamed up with Jose Cuervo, who became their decorator; their creativity was of great significance even with the tiny amount of resources. Also, they decided on creating a brand that stands out from any other and is recognizable from any place.

On the contrary, the lack of funds did not stop them from progressing. They kept their faith in a unique and exciting brand; they came up with the wooden swimming fish for the ceiling, the hubcaps and Elvis shrine hanging above the booths; the designs gave a unique look to the Chuy’s restaurants, which is why people say If you‘ve seen one Chuy’s, you‘ve visited all Chuy’s.

In the year 2000, Chuy’s owned fifteen restaurants in Texas. John and Mike loving what they were doing in Texas alone, found it right to spread the love further.

With this zeal, in November 2009, Chuy’s launched a new location in Nashville, TN suburb of Franklin, US. Since then, the Chuy’s chain has been spreading its Tex-Mex with the primary objective of sharing the delicious and fresh food that comes with the brand. Also, Chuy’s restaurant has embraced franchises and plays a significant role in spreading the brand and product.

They pride themselves in ensuring their items are the same everywhere; this is why training and orientation are in place for those who decide to be a part of the brand.

Homemade sauces form another significant part of Chuy’s, ranging from Hatch Green Chile Sauce to mild Tomatillo sauce. They are made from scratch at the restaurant and in small batches to ensure fresh spices are available.

Another attribute of Chuy’s is their passion for giving back to society. Chuy’s have raised over $175,000 for local charities since 2010; they also support start-up franchises to promote their product so that Chuy’s experience is the same everywhere and maintains their reputation.

Chuy’s restaurant also has another category added to its menu, specialities. Here, you are offered options of Mexican ice, green chile rice and refried or Charro Beans.

Other dishes include Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken, Chuymanga and Chicken Flautas. To round up, Chuy’s restaurant is open from 11 a.m to 10 p.m; from Sunday till Thursday; from 11 a.m to 11 p.m; on Fridays and Saturdays.
