It’s the Lambo, for those who didn’t guess. It costs nearly a quarter-million dollars. That’s the starting point for owning a radically styled SUV of this calibre.

Along with incredible track abilities for its size, the Urus has certain features that the Aventador and Huracán do not: a back seat, usable storage room, and the ability to tow.

While its interior craftsmanship isn’t as exquisite as that of its supercar siblings, and it’s the epitome of a gas-guzzler, the 2022 Lamborghini Urus is unquestionably the most badass family transporter in the world.

Performance, Engine, and Transmission

The Urus is driven by a twin-turbo V-8 engine that produces 641 horsepower while idle and screams at full throttle. With all that power, permanent all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission work together to provide excellent acceleration. The Urus flew to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and tore up the quarter-mile in 11.3 seconds at 121 mph in our tests.

Similarly, Lamborghini predicts a top speed of 190 mph. From behind the wheel, the Urus feels dynamic as well, with fast steering and stable high-speed cornering.

The Urus has adjustable ride heights based on its drive modes, thanks to air springs at all four corners. The Urus’ standard carbon-ceramic brakes ensure that it stops as well as it goes, stopping from 70 mph to 149 feet.

Real-World MPG and Fuel Economy

Those who can afford a Urus are unlikely to care about fuel economy, but Lamborghini’s heaviest model likes to drink. According to the EPA, the Urus will get 12 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the interstate.

There’s a lot of faux-suede and carbon-fibre trim, and the infotainment system and reconfigurable gauges look like they came from an Audi.
